Ag community helps neighbor in need

Friends and neighbors of Dan Peterson, rural Burdick, joined together to harvest about 300 acres of soybeans last Thursday in Morris County. More than 20 volunteers gathered last Thursday to help harvest on a dusty, hot day. Six combines, two tractors with grain carts and at least eight large trucks worked until about 8 p.m. to finish the harvest. Supper was served in the field by volunteers, as well. Three combines were scheduled to help on Friday, if needed. Donors also offered cash to cover fuel costs. According to organizers, Dan and Linda Peterson were always among the first to help out when needed, so volunteers were happy to be able to return the favor. Peterson’s beloved wife recently passed away and he also is recovering from Covid-19. Pictured are just three of the combines working the field Thursday afternoon.
