KC Chiefs defeat the 49ers 31-20 in Super Bowl 54

Though Kansas City may lie in Missouri, the Chiefs had fans throughout Kansas cheering them on as they ended their 50-year Super Bowl drought. That included right here in Chapman.

In the week leading up to the game, local schools and organizations pulled out all the stops to celebrate the Chiefs’ amazing season. At Blue Ridge and Rural Center elementary, students were dressed in their team apparel and took part in grade-appropriate “Super Bowl Parties”. At Chapman Elementary, the staff gathered the students together to sing “Take Me Home, Pat Mahomes”, a new take on the John Denver country classic, “Country Roads”.

At the Chapman Senior Center, Chapman High School football coach Kurt Webster brought some of his senior players to enjoy lunch with the elder community.
