Chapman receives $600,000 in CDBG funds

Land purchased, grant in hand, Chapman is ready to work.

On Thursday, Feb. 13, Chapman officials, including Mayor Jeff Blixt and City Administrator John Dudte, will join Lieutenant Governor Lynn Rogers and Kansas Secretary of Commerce David Toland in Topeka to be a part of a check presentation ceremony for communities receiving Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding in 2020.

Chapman will receive CDBG funds in the amount of $600,000 in order to continue work on the cities ongoing lagoon project. Chapman is one of 39 Kansas communities who are set to receive more than $17 million in federal funds through the CDBG program. The program provides Kansas communities with assets to build critical infrastructural projects such as water and wastewater facilities, community facilities, and housing.
