CHS Class of 2020 commencement held online
On Sunday, May 27, the Chapman High School held their commencement ceremony for the graduating class of 2020. Like much of the world today, it bore little resemblance to the ceremony held in previous years.
At 2:30 p.m. a link to a virtual commencement ceremony, posted to YouTube, was released to district families via email and text. A link to the video was published to the USD 473 and Chapman High School USD 473 Facebook pages as well as the CHS website, chapmanirish.net, and the USD 473 District Website, www.usd473.net. The commencement video was created by Shasta Acheson, CHS Journalism Teacher, with assistance from Jodi DeArmond, CHS Irish Ink Teacher.
Great care was taken so that the video, which opened with a photo montage of seniors set to the familiar tune of Pomp and Circumstance in lieu of the usual graduate processional, contained all the of the elements of the traditional graduation.
