County Commissioner and Sheriff in Chapman to discuss jail vote

The August 7 primary election is looming and one question that is foremost on the mind of Dickinson County residents is the county’s plan to build a new jail and Sheriff’s office as well as renovate the existing courthouse. County officials are promising that this extensive project will get underway without a tax increase.

County Commissioner Craig Chamberlin and Dickinson County Sheriff Gareth Hoffman stopped by the Chapman Senior Center to discuss the need for the project with residents and to clarify how the county intends to finance the renovations with funds already allocated in the budget.
