Public to meet Herington PD chief candidates

The two finalists for the Herington chief of police position are scheduled to meet the public from 6 to 7 p.m. today (Thursday) at the Herington Community Building.

City Manager Branden Dross will introduce the candidates, with a question and answer session from the public to follow.

John V. Matula, 35, is a Lansford, Penn., resident. Roland Ramos, 51, is currently residing in Bowling Green, Ky.

Matula is employed as a state parole agent after having worked several years in law enforcement. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force, with service time in Iraq.
