Paula’s life began March 27, 1953 in Herington. She is the daughter of Gerald and Vonda May (Haguewood). She is a 1971 graduate of Herington High School and attended Tabor College for two years majoring in history.
Lupe Bargas was born Dec. 12, 1930. He was the son of Jessie and Maria (Ortiz) Bargas. Lupe served in the United States Army for 26 years, where he was an E-7 Sgt. 1st Class. He performed two tours in Korea and Vietnam, where he earned a National Defense Service Medal, First Oak Leaf Cluster, Koren Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two bronze service stars and one silver service star, Good Conduct Medal and United Nations Service Medal, until his honorable retirement. Upon retirement, Lupe served as a commander for the VFW post 1281 in Herington, KS.
Ellen's life began on Jan. 29, 1939 in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvannia. She was the son of James A. and Kathleen L. (Copenhaver) Cochran.
Bernice Emma Dorthea (Lawrenz) Diekmann, was born at her home near Herington, Kansas, Nov. 7, 1914 to Karl L. and Olga Pauline Caroline (Ohm) Lawrenz.
