Chapman hires Simpson as new coach of CHS Track and CMS Football

USD 473 has hired Coach Steve Simpson to fill a couple of vacancies as the head coach of the Chapman High School track team and as head coach of the Chapman Middle School football squad.

Simpson is a well-known name to fans of local high school and collegiate sports, with a coaching career that spans 45 years. Beginning at Baileyville B&B in 1975, Simpson has served tenures in a variety of coaching positions at Dodge City Community College, Perry-LeCompton, Stafford, Sublette, and most recently, Abilene, where he oversaw both the football and track programs. He resigned as head coach of the Abilene football team in November of 2019.
